This step‑by‑step guide is written for non‑techy users. Go in order, don’t skip steps, and you’ll be fine.

Legal reminder: Only use Stremio, Torrentio, and Real‑Debrid for content you have the rights to watch. This page is for educational purposes.

0) Prepare the Firestick

1
Make sure the Firestick is powered on and connected to your Wi‑Fi.
2
Have your Amazon account password handy (you may be asked).
3
Keep a phone or computer nearby (for the Real‑Debrid login later).

1) Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore

  1. On Firestick Home, use the Search (magnifying glass) and type Downloader.
  2. Select the app by AFTVnewsGet / Download / Install.
  3. Open Downloader once and choose Allow if it asks for file access.

2) Allow installing apps from unknown sources (for Downloader)

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon) → My Fire TV (or Device & Software).
  2. Open Developer options.
  3. Select Install unknown apps.
  4. Set Downloader to ON / Allow.

3) Download and install Stremio (APK)

  1. Open Downloader.
  2. Click the URL box and type: strem.io → press Go.
  3. In the site, find the Android APK download (choose the standard ARM Android APK, not x86 or desktop).
  4. Tap to download → when finished, choose Install.
  5. When done, select Open to launch Stremio.
Troubleshooting: can’t find or download the APK
  • Double‑check you typed strem.io exactly in Downloader.
  • Restart Firestick: Settings → My Fire TV → Restart, then try again.

4) First run of Stremio

  1. Open Stremio from Your Apps & Channels.
  2. Create an account or sign in (recommended so your add‑ons and library are saved).
  3. Allow any permissions requested.

5) Add the Torrentio add‑on

  1. In Stremio, open the Add‑ons tab (puzzle‑piece icon).
  2. Switch to Community add‑ons.
  3. Search for Torrentio → select it → press Install.
Can’t see Torrentio?

Some builds/regions hide community add‑ons. If it’s missing, use the add‑on’s manifest URL method inside Stremio (Add‑ons → ⋯ / Install via URL) and paste the official Torrentio manifest URL from its project page. Only use trusted sources.

6) Link Real‑Debrid to Stremio

You need an active Real‑Debrid account.

Method A — via Add‑ons

  1. Stremio → Add‑ons → search Real‑Debrid.
  2. Select it → Install / Connect. Stremio shows a short code.
  3. On your phone/computer, go to real-debrid.com/device, sign in, and enter the code.
  4. Stremio should confirm it’s connected.

Method B — via Settings

  1. Stremio → SettingsAccounts/ServicesConnect Real‑Debrid.
  2. Again, visit real-debrid.com/device on your phone/computer and enter the code.
No code appears / can’t connect?
  • Check you’re online in Stremio.
  • Try the other method (Add‑ons vs Settings).
  • Disconnect and reconnect Real‑Debrid if it looks linked but no premium links show.

7) Test playback

  1. Search a title (preferably one you have rights to view or public‑domain).
  2. Open the title page and review the list of links. Look for Real‑Debrid or Torrentio sources.
  3. Select a link → Play. If asked for a player, use Stremio’s internal player.

8) Finishing touches & safety

  • Turn off Unknown Sources (optional): Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps → set Downloader to OFF.
  • Keep Stremio updated: revisit strem.io in Downloader to grab newer APKs if needed.
  • Stay legal: only stream content you’re allowed to watch.

9) Quick fixes

  • Downloader won’t download: check Wi‑Fi; restart Firestick (Settings → My Fire TV → Restart).
  • Stremio crashes/doesn’t open: uninstall then reinstall the APK.
  • No Real‑Debrid links: confirm the account is connected in Stremio; disconnect/reconnect.
  • Torrentio shows nothing: try another title; verify Torrentio is installed and enabled.
  • Choppy playback: pick a different link (higher quality host/health) and ensure your internet is stable.
